Thinking After Gaza

Civilization, History and Evolution in the Wake of the Zionist Genocide

Franco “Bifo” Berardi

” I am a young Palestinian. I’m 22 years old. My brother has been killed. I live in Jenin or in Gaza. My mother had a small house. Their house has been bombed, destroyed. What should I do? Sometimes, I think I don’t want to fight anymore. I have no weapons. I have nothing. So I want to desert, to defect, to go away. Maybe I go somewhere on the Meditteranean Sea, I take a boat and I try to go beyond the Mediterranean Sea. What happens? I get to Sicily, in Italy. Oh, what a beautiful country it is. But they don’t want me there. They try to kill me. They try to drown me. Like thousands and thousands of people were drowned in the Meidterranean Sea. No way. They reject me. They don’t want people like me. So what can I do? I cannot live here in Jenin because the Israelis and the settlers don’t want me to stay here. They try to kill me every day like they did with my brother. So I really don’t know what to do.
Actually not.
I am Franco Berardi “

The talk was part of the exhibition of Bifo’s paintings “Making Friends With Chaos” at ISSA2024: To Live Together, in Komiža from 4-9 October, 2024
